This policy explains what information banglachain.org collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It covers this website only — banglachain.org, operated by BanglaChain Foundation.
1. Overview & scope
BanglaChain Foundation ("the Foundation," "we," "us" or "our") operates the website at banglachain.org (the "Website") to share information about BanglaChain — a Layer 1 blockchain network under research and development — and about the Foundation's research, policy and education work in Bangladesh. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Website collects when you visit it, how that information is used, and the choices available to you.
This policy applies only to banglachain.org. It does not apply to the Foundation's separate corporate profile site at banglachainfoundation.com, to third-party platforms we link to or maintain a presence on (such as X, LinkedIn, Discord and Facebook), or to any future product, application, wallet, explorer or developer tool the Foundation may release — each of which, if and when introduced, will carry its own privacy notice appropriate to what it actually does.
The Website is an informational site. It does not currently offer user accounts, sign-in, wallet connections, token transactions, payments, file uploads, comments, or any form that asks you to submit personal information in order to use the site. Where this policy refers to "personal information," it means information that identifies or could reasonably be used to identify you.
2. Information we collect
Because the Website has no accounts, forms or checkout, most of what it "collects" is limited to a couple of small, functional preferences and the kind of technical information any web server ordinarily sees.
2.1 Information you choose to give us
The Website itself does not include a contact form, newsletter sign-up or comment system. If you want to reach the Foundation, the site gives you a mailto: link (which opens your own email application addressed to info@banglachain.org) or a phone number. Anything you then choose to send us — for example your name, email address, phone number, and the content of your message — is information you're voluntarily giving us directly through email or a phone call, not information the Website collects from you automatically.
2.2 Information collected automatically
Like most websites, banglachain.org and the infrastructure that serves it can automatically record standard technical information when you visit — for example your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit. This is typically generated as ordinary web-server access logs by our hosting/CDN provider for operating and securing the site, rather than something we separately collect for profiling purposes.
2.3 Cookies, local storage & similar technologies
The Website sets two small, functional pieces of browser storage. Neither is used for advertising, tracking across other websites, or building a profile of you.

2.4 What we do not collect
To be specific about what this Website does not do:
- We do not ask you to register, log in, or create any kind of account.
- We do not collect wallet addresses, private keys, seed phrases, or any blockchain transaction data through this Website.
- We do not process payments, and we do not collect card, bank or other financial-account details.
- We do not collect government ID, KYC or identity-verification documents.
- We do not currently run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, heatmaps, session-recording tools, or any other analytics or advertising tracker on this Website — see Section 3.2.
3. How we use information
3.1 Purposes
We use the limited information described in Section 2 to:
- Display the Website correctly in your chosen theme and language;
- Operate, maintain and secure the Website, including diagnosing technical problems and detecting abuse, from standard server logs;
- Respond to emails or calls you choose to send to info@banglachain.org or our published phone number; and
- Meet legal obligations, or protect the rights, property or safety of the Foundation, our users, or the public, where necessary.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use any information collected through this Website to serve you targeted advertising.
3.2 Analytics & advertising
As of the date at the top of this page, BanglaChain Foundation does not use Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook Pixel, or any comparable analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking technology on banglachain.org. If that changes in the future — for example, to understand aggregate traffic as the site and the underlying network grow — we will update this Privacy Policy and the cookie table in Section 2.3 first, and will seek your consent for any non-essential cookie or tracking technology where applicable law requires it.
4. Third-party services
A handful of third-party services help run parts of the Website. Each only receives the minimum a browser needs to load its resource, and each is governed by that provider's own privacy policy, not this one.
Google Fonts
The Website loads the "JetBrains Mono" typeface from Google's font service (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Loading a web font means your browser makes a direct request to Google's servers, which — as with any external resource — will see standard connection information such as your IP address.
Google Website Translator
If you pick a language other than English from the language switcher, the Website loads Google's Website Translator widget to machine-translate the page on the fly. Using this feature sends the page's text, and your browser's connection information, to Google for translation. This only loads if you actively choose a non-English language; browsing in English does not trigger it. See Section 6 of our Terms of Use for the related disclaimer about translation accuracy.
tsParticles (jsDelivr CDN)
The animated background effect on this and other pages is rendered by the open-source tsParticles library, loaded from the jsDelivr content delivery network (cdn.jsdelivr.net). It runs entirely in your browser to draw a decorative visual effect and does not, to our knowledge, report any data back about you; loading the script file itself does involve a standard request to jsDelivr's servers, as with any CDN-hosted resource.
Social & community platforms
The Website links out to the Foundation's presence on X, LinkedIn, Discord and Facebook, and to a public Facebook community group. We do not embed these platforms' widgets on the Website, so simply browsing banglachain.org does not send data to them. If you click through and interact with those platforms, your activity there is governed by that platform's own privacy policy and terms, not this one.

Links to banglachainfoundation.com take you to a separate website with its own privacy practices. This Privacy Policy covers banglachain.org only.
5. Sharing, retention & security
5.1 Sharing & disclosure
We do not sell or rent personal information. We only share information in these situations:
- With the service providers named in Section 4, to the limited extent necessary for them to load a font, render the translation widget, or serve the particle-animation script;
- If disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or a valid request from a competent authority in Bangladesh or elsewhere;
- To protect the rights, property or safety of BanglaChain Foundation, our users, or the public; or
- With your consent, or at your direction — for example, when you email us and we reply.
5.2 Data retention
Your theme preference stays in your browser's local storage until you clear your browser's site data. The language-preference cookie persists for up to one year or until you clear it. Correspondence you send to info@banglachain.org is kept for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you and maintain our own records of Foundation communications.
5.3 Security
The Website is served over HTTPS. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to a static informational website to protect the limited information described in this policy. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5.4 Children's privacy
The Website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, please contact us using the details in Section 8 and we will delete it.
5.5 International visitors
BanglaChain Foundation is based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and this Website is operated from Bangladesh. If you access the Website from outside Bangladesh, be aware that any information described in this policy may be processed in Bangladesh, or in whichever countries our third-party service providers listed in Section 4 operate their servers.
6. Your rights & choices
Because this Website collects so little, most of your choices are things you control directly:
- Theme: use the theme toggle in the navigation, or clear your browser's local storage, to reset your light/dark preference at any time.
- Language & translation: switch back to English, or clear cookies for banglachain.org in your browser settings, to stop the Google Website Translator widget from loading.
- Cookies generally: most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings; doing so will not prevent you from reading the Website, though your language choice will not be remembered.
- Information you've sent us: if you've emailed or called us, you can ask to access, correct, or have us delete that correspondence by contacting us using the details in Section 8.
Depending on where you are located, you may have additional statutory rights over your personal information under applicable data protection law. To exercise any such right in relation to information you have sent us, please contact us — see Section 8.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, as the Website gains new features or as our use of third-party services changes. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change is material, we will make reasonable efforts to make that clear on this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
