BanglaChain — Layer 1 Blockchain
A sovereign Layer 1 network designed for the people of Bangladesh: a decentralized, secure and transparent system for recording and verifying transactions or data, built to support applications like financial transactions, supply chain tracking and digital identity management.
Research & Policy Advocacy
In-depth research into the security, privacy and responsible design of the Layer 1, paired with policy advocacy — working with government authorities, industry experts and academic institutions on regulatory frameworks for responsible adoption.
BanglaChain Academy
A nationwide programme of workshops, training and educational resources under the Foundation's digital-literacy mandate, making blockchain concepts accessible to students, professionals and community leaders.
From an idea in 2021 to a Foundation in 2025.
The journey began with a dedication to ecological sustainability, digital autonomy and the eradication of systemic inequality.
Early exploration of blockchain technology, distributed systems and local innovation, motivated by ecological sustainability and digital autonomy.
This early work culminated in the establishment of Onchain Software and Research Limited, intending to promote decentralized infrastructure.
The core team initiated the BanglaChain Foundation project — a Layer 1 blockchain designed to strengthen digital autonomy and inclusive access to digital technologies — and the organization expanded into a non-profit aimed at fostering collaborative innovation with principles of justice, security and inclusion.
